The textbook affordability program is meant to assist IU Kokomo students with the financial burden by purchasing available IU Kokomo faculty selected course-texts. Faculty are able to fill out the Qualtrics form to see if their required text is available in an unlimited user access license.
While the library does obtain a list from the campus bookstore of course titles selected we do not have an updated list unless requested. So if you change your course title after April 15th (for Fall) or October 15th (for Spring) we will not be notified of that change.
In conjunction with selecting your course titles for the bookstore, and if you would like to see if the library can purchase the title please fill out this form.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact iukres@iu.edu and address your questions to Martha Barker, Library Collections Coordinator.
An unlimited user access license is a license that allows more than one student at a time to access an e-book. So, if your course text has an unlimited user access license available that means all of your students can open the book at the same time and read the course materials. This eliminates students having to wait for the textbook to be available or returned.
The same rules apply from the unlimited user access license to the DRM-free license, but DRM-free is more accessible for the patron using it.
This type of license is where three patrons can open and access an e-text but once that limit is reached no one else can open the book.
This kind of license is where one patron can open an e-text at a time.
