Background Information

"Free access to government information for all."

This statement is the basis of the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) which started in 1813 after a joint resolution was passed in Congress. The IU Kokomo Library joined the FDLP as a selective depository in 1969. As a depository the library houses many essential government documents as well as providing discoverabillity and access to the government documents online.  The documents include books, microfiche, CDs, DVDs, videos, maps, and websites. Library use is not restricted and materials are made available for use by the general public at no cost.
