The Indiana University Libraries are considered one of the top research library systems in the United States. There are over 50 libraries in the IU Libraries system, including the IU Kokomo Library. Many of the resources you will need for your courses are easily found at the IU Kokomo Library or through the Indiana University Libraries.
First check to see if the item you want is available through any IU library by following these steps:
To request a physical item (books, DVDs, CDs, etc.) from an Indiana library, other than an IU Library, you may use the IU Kokomo Library interlibrary loan service, SRCS.
This service may not be used to obtain electronic or photocopied versions of articles or book chapters.
As a first time user, it is necessary for you to bring your Cougar card to the IU Kokomo Library service desk and request that a SRCS account be created in your name. This service is only available to enrolled IU Kokomo students, faculty and staff.
To request all types of resources not available using Request Delivery or SRCS, from libraries outside of Indiana, you may use the IU Kokomo Library interlibrary loan service, Tipasa.
This service may be used to obtain books, DVDs, CDs, articles or book chapters.
You will receive an email notification when your requested item(s) is available for pickup at the IU Kokomo Library Service Desk. You will need your Cougar card to borrow materials. Please note that the lending period is determined by the lending library, and all materials are subject to recall at any time.
Photocopies of articles ordered via Tipasa will be delivered electronically via the Tipasa system.
For additional information on requesting or retrieving an article via Tipasa, review the appropriate tabs from the top of the page.
Review the SRCS tab at the top of the page for help requesting an item.
