ERIC is the primary database to locate educational materials. Two versions of the database are available. One is the open access government database and the other is an EBSCOhost database.
The ERIC Thesaurus lists service learning as a descriptor and provided the following scope note. "Learning through community service (or Public services in a wider sphere), usually integrated with regular instruction in school or college (Note: See also related identifiers "Community Service", "Youth Community Service", and "National Service")". A broader term used is Experiential Learning.
The Educational Resource Information Center (ERIC), sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) of the U.S. Department of Education, produces the world’s premier database of journal and non-journal education literature.
