The Chancellor's Diversity Statement

Exploring Implicit Bias
The purpose of this semester-long diversity training series is to get faculty, staff, and students thinking about the role implicit bias plays in predicting real world behaviors.

- Office of Campus Diversity The Office of Campus Diversity provides a vital support system for students, faculty, and staff from underrepresented groups. Through our Diversity Committee, cultural diversity training, programming, mentorships, and student organizations, this office assists in the recruitment and retention of diverse students, faculty, and staff.
- Chancellor’s Diversity Excellence Award A plaque and $1,000.00 cash prize will be awarded for programs or activities that: Develop new ways to increase Academic Excellence and Student Success among diverse students; Attract, support, and retain diverse students, faculty, and staff; Enhance connections and Build Relationships with diverse communities that facilitate educational attainment; Transform the Region by preparing students to compete in a global economy.
- Campus Diversity Plan In August 2016, the campus held a Diversity Retreat where the results from the Halualani report were disseminated and discussed. IU Kokomo decided focus on the following six strategic priorities for our diversity plan: (1) Institutional Leadership; (2) Infusing Diversity and Equity into the Curriculum (3) Campus Climate (4) Serving Diverse Communities (5) Recruitment and Retention of Diverse Employees (6) Recruitment and Retention of Diverse Students
